There once was a man looking for love. He wanted it so much that he wanted every cell in his body to feel it, to become love.
He was an ambitious sort - if there was a mountain, he would climb it to the very peak. If he found a boulder on it, he climbed that, and if a tree grew on that boulder, he would climb that.
So with his ambition, he eventually became love and found himself light as a feather sitting on top of the tree.
He was sitting there, legs crossed and hands folded over his knees in contentment. He looked down and noticed the people looked like the size of ants down at the bottom of the mountain running this way and that about their busy lives.
Looking up, he noticed a cloud and he thought to himself, "if I could only reach that cloud". Then the cloud said you can, but first I have a challenge for you.
Tell people about your love.
Then he became sad and said they didn't believe him when he was down there before and told them about this love that he had found. Why should they believe him now?
Then the cloud said, "find a mate - one that will resist you and cannot love. Bring her up here and I will tell you more. So the man went down among the people and found a mate - just what the cloud said to look for. The man thought this is going to be easy. So he took her hand and started walking up the mountain with her. She yanked back. He tried to tell her about the great feeling he found by going up the mountain and the beautiful treasure on top of it.
"No," she said, "I want to live with others and do what others do"
The man didn't know what to do, so he went up to talk to the cloud. The cloud said, "I am not allowed to tell you how to get her up here, or how to make her love. She has to find it on her own and in her own time, but I will wait for you for I already know you will succeed."
The man went back to his mate. Many many years went by, sometimes it even looked hopeless. He aways went back to see the cloud. It was still there, and silent.
One day, something happened. His mate set foot onto the mountain and she said, "this feels nice. Does it get stronger as you go up?"
The man smiled for the first time in a long time and up the mountain they went. The man remembering his love, and his mate finding love.
By the time they reachedthe top, they were just beaming with love nd willing to go on forever.
They climbed the boulder and then the tree and sitting at the top of the tree, the man said to the cloud, "I am here. How am I supposed to reach you?" The cloud said, "haven't you learned anything? With love, you can accomplish anything."
So he put his mate on top of his shoulder and standing very shakily on top of the tree, he reached for the cloud.
As he reached, his body stretched until he took hold of the cloud.
A door opened and the cloud said,
"enter into the land of love."
So his mate stood on his shoulder and went in.
Now as soon as she entered, the man's feet grew huge roots, growing all the way down the mountain to the people.
The man cried, "You tricked me!"
"No" said the cloud, "but I would like to ask a favour of you."
The man said, "Okay, what is it?"
The cloud replied that there are good people in the land looking to find love. I would like for you to be a bridge and help them. The man said okay. Meanwhile, down in the land, some people were noticing these roots and were curious. They touched them and there was this great feeling inside of them. The people noticed as the roots got bigger and bigger, the feeling was stronger and stronger. Next thing they noticed, they were climbing what looked like a huge tree and had love in their hearts and entered the land of love.
To the man it looked like ants climbing up his body into the land of love. Many people went in until one day no one else was looking for love.
The cloud said to the man, "Okay, enter."
The roots vanished and he became normal size and walked into the land of love. The door shut behind him
